There was also a ceremonial grape stoping by Geraldine Becker of Leakey—who turns 80 this month. Click here to read the full press release.

Lost Maples Winery Introduces New Premium Red Wine

Lost Maples Winery is pleased to introduce Polvadeau Vin Rouge Reserve, a limited vintage wine made from grapes grown at its vineyards in Bandera County. Its predecessor, the Polvadeau Vin Rouge, is already a best seller and was recognized earlier this year with a Bronze Medal at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo wine competition. The new Reserve Edition of this red wine is rich, bold and complex and very smooth to the palate. It is made with 2014 vintage grapes that have been aged on site at the winery in oak barrels until bottling began last month. Click here to read the full press release.

Lost Maples wines will be featured at event honoring Mickey Gilley

Exclusive wines developed and endorsed by legendary country music performer Mickey Gilley will be introduced and previewed at an upcoming kickoff event for Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance in Houston. Gilley is being honored at the 7th Annual Keels & Wheels “Uncorked” event to be held on Thursday, March 24, at the Wynden Events Center located near the Galleria at 1025 Post Oak Lane. Gilley’s Platinum Reserve Red and Gilley’s Platinum Reserve White will be offered to guests at the event by “Texas” Tom and Glenda Slaughter of Lost Maples Winery. Tom Slaughter is a former member of Mickey Gilley’s band; he and his wife Glenda started the Vineyard in 2006 in Vanderpool, Texas. After the Slaughter’s began making wine, Gilley approached them about creating an exclusive vintage in his namesake. The two wines that will be previewed at the event are the result of that collaboration. The Keels & Wheels Concours d'Elegance benefits Boys & Girls Harbor, an organization that provides a home and safe environment for abandoned and abused children.
